About 43 Air School

43 Air School was built for the purpose of providing an Air Observer School for the Royal Air Force/South African Air Force during World War II. It came into existence on 11 November 1940 and trained over 2000 navigators, bombardiers, and gunners for the allied forces. The school was shut down on 15 September 1946. In 1988, the new 43 Air school was established and commenced training with 11 trainee pilots. In 2000, the school was awarded its first airline contract. The school has trained over 6000 pilots who fly for airlines worldwide and hold key positions in many of them.

Team Garuda established the relationship with 43 Air School in 2019 and has trained over 100 IndiGo cadet pilots together. The school was introduced to the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program by team Garuda and has achieved over 90% success in training even through the trying times of COVID-19.
